Paul Walsh is a teacher, writer and precarious worker. He has taught English in Poland, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Saudi Arabia, and now lives in Berlin. He is interested in critical and alternative pedagogies and blogs at decentralisedteachingandlearning.com. He is also the founder of Teachers as Workers Special Interest Group (TaWSIG), which aims to improve working conditions for English language teachers.
Paul has written articles on ELT for English Teaching Professional and EL Gazette, and has also written on grassroots social movements for Red Pepper and ROAR magazine. He recently co-edited, with Theresa Gorman, a book of stories from language teachers, entitled ‘Teacher Stories: Stories from the Edges of Language Teaching‘.
He enjoys starting and finishing projects, and cooking.
