It’s been a mere four months since the round came into existence and we are already at the beginning of 2012. This time of year is great for making resolutions, and here are a few of ours:
- Post a series of submission guidelines. Given the number of messages expressing interest in publishing something on the round this is pretty important… and something we feel a bit guilty leaving for so long! This will come shortly.
- Get 52 published. We have just finished getting our first e-book, 52, edited. It’s now just about ready to go!
- Get another two to three titles published before IATEFL. This depends as much on the other authors as us, but it feels like an achievable goal.
- Get at least six more titles into Labs! By the end of the year our aim is to have the labs section of the round buzzing with activity and full of different interesting titles.
- Meet as many people as possible to spread the word. We’ll both be going to conferences this year and hope to spread the word about the round there. We’ll also be continuing to blog, facebook and tweet about all things ’round’.
- Begin a special project in which we pair up new aspiring writers with experienced ones.
- Finally, keep our eyes and ears open to any new developments in the whole area of e-publishing.
Phew! At least those are our intentions. Let’s see if they all translate into actions!

Hi Luke and Lindsay,
These are great resolutions for 2012. Do hop you both will be able to present at the Braz-Tesol Conference the session you´ll be doing at IATEFL about 52!
Think this would simply be a great opportunity to share one of the most refreshing projects about in ELT.
All the best,
Valéria
Thanks Valeria, we’ll both be at that conference yes, for sure! I don’t think we’ll be doing a joint talk though but will certainly be able to chat with people about it. Look forward to seeing you there!
I’m anxiously awaiting those submission guidelines!! Great resolutions that also give insight into all the exciting things you’ll be working on in 2012! Thanks for sharing.
